Children usually want to be everything when they grow up but there was a time when I didn’t know what I wanted to be. Then something amazing happened, I went on a fantastic adventure to a colorful universe far away from home where I discovered the power of my imagination, passion and perseverance at a young age. I often think back to childhood and ask myself why I buried myself in books and what made them so special to me. I have realized that I was always more interested in the illustrations and the visual telling of the story. After many years of exploration and hard work, I have found the perfect career path, illustration. Visual storytelling is my passion and it is my goal to bring others’ written visions and ideas to life through my creativity.

When I begin an illustration, I get pretty excited. I have a relatively standard approach to my work. I will begin the process with thumbnails, followed by many drawings, color/value studies and then the final piece. I enjoy working traditionally with just about any media but I like to work with a variety of media such as watercolor, colored pencil, acrylic, oil and digital. I feel that if my work sparks the imagination of whoever views it, my job is a success.

I received my BFA in illustration from Rocky Mountain College of Art and design. I currently reside in the suburbs of Denver Colorado as a freelance illustrator.
