"The Reluctant Dragon" Watercolor and Colored Pencil on Illustration Board, 13.5"x17.5"

"The Reluctant Dragon" is essentially a short children story of "St. George and the Dragon." A boy, a knight and a dragon find themselves at odds and all become friends by the end of the story. This piece was created for a book cover mock up for my grad show. I used watercolor and colored pencil on board. Thanks for looking

This type of artwork,sadly, is becoming a dying art form in the digital age. Beautiful crisp lines with the soft grading of the scene is wonderful. A well earned DD :)

Oh my gosh I love thissss! :lol: In college, our chamber ensemble performed the operetta by John Rutter (I played the dragon, lol), and ever since, this story has just had a special place in my heart. :XD:

The composition and the colors and their expressions just make me grin all over. :la:
